Product Overview

Meeks is a British songwriter and singer grew up in an estate in east London. He started his song career in a youth club which led him to perform bars a few nights after school. After that, his reputation grew and then he has invited to London more prestigious clubs before picked up by Universal Music Group late 2016. He has performed in various clubs then arenas in the UK and Europe. He has built enough reputation that he was globally identifiable by a mass audience, especially by young people. Additionally, there was a demand by fans and by a worldwide audience for a release of his first album. 

Album Concept

What is the concept


The concept of the album is Meeks will be able to release his first album to the audience because of the demand by his fans and a global audience. The audience is mostly 18-30 year old from working/students backgrounds. Most of the music are Hip Hop Genre which is popular with this age group. It also allows Meeks reinforces his ideas and beliefs and allows him to portray ideas to a wider audience. However, we have to ensure that it appeals to a wider audience as well as his fan base. The album is created not only because of a high demand for one it was done to increases his popularity with the audience additionally to increase his popularity within the music industry and boosting his star image.

Why are we doing it?

For the music album to be successful to ensure this that the design can appeal to our target audience. We need to ensure that album is visually appealing therefore the design of the digipak is important for the success of the album.  We need to use pictures, colours, typography in the album effectively since it establish the artist ideals and values to the audience as well as the theme.

Comparable products.



We believe that our the album that are comparable to James Bay Chaos and the Calm, Shawn Mendes, Illuminate and Van Velzen Call it luck. The reason why is because of its simplicity and portrayal of artists in the album covers. And we will be looking at these as an guide for our album. 

What is the reaction we want

The demographic of the audience is working class background both skilled and unskilled with different ethnic backgrounds. And the target audience is males and females, however, there are certain elements that may attract males more than females and the age range is 18-30. This is because they are likely to relate to the artist or the themes in the music video. We want the audience to listen to Meeks and were hoping for a positive reaction to meeks songs. And is able to build on the relationship he has currently with fans and the audience.

How will we know it worked? 

For the album to be a success, there have to be significant sales. To ensure that we can maximize our potential we did host a focus group to ensure that our target audience to reflect on our work and make necessary improvements and amendments to the final music video. The music video itself needs to an appeal target audience and suitable and needs to explore the audience interests and make it appealing. The album must be visually appealing and meet expectations of the audience.

Limitations

The main issue is consistency since our group has different ideas for our three products. And need to be consistent throughout to ensure that we stay on one idea rather than three different ideas. To overcome this problem we have all to agree what we are doing and then stick to it. And stick to one common idea rather than three different ideas.
